Good Very Hello! This is my rant page for when a company hides behind the web doing business so they don't have to have the accountability that would be required in a face to face transaction. I am standing behind my "free speech" in expressing my dissatisfaction. If your company name is listed here and feel that it has been wrongly posted, to hell with you and what you think. To make this list, you will need to contact me via the contact link at the bottom of this page.
Here lies the problem with purchasing a new product from off of ebay .... notice the score for the comments on this seller http://myworld.ebay.com/mediasonicinc . Looks like he must be very reputable by the amount of positive feedbacks versus the negative right ( http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=mediasonicinc&ftab=AllFeedback&myworld=true )? Well don't kid yourself! First thing first. You are required to only have a certain amount of time to leave feedback to begin with! After that time, you have nothing to say about it. You do not get enough time really to know whether the support that is promised, will be honored. After you leave feedback out of your pleasure of getting a fast delivery, your recourse is done! There is no way to go back and say, This SOB promised a mfg warranty and won't honor it now! Reading the feedbacks, over 90 percent are "Fast delivery", "A++++ Seller". Do not waste your comment on this kind of thing as the next day, when the product fails you or you need to seek relief beyond Ebay or Paypals period for warranty or otherwise, you can not transmit to other potential buyers your complete experience!
Read all the negative comments!
99 Percent of the positive remarks left by the buyers, are written as soon as they recieve the product and if they have any problem with it, you will not be able to see or find that out. They mostly consist of "Fast Shipper, Great Product"!
Here is the problem. I purchased an item from this seller where he was offering a 30 day warranty where he would replace the item if defective and then also goes on to say that the mfg offers a warranty on it for up to a year! Sounds like a good deal huh? I received the item and it did in fact work so being the good eBayer that I am, went right back to leave my feedback of my pleasurable experience with this seller. Not bad huh? During the course of using the product, occasionally it would fail when hooked up to my computer. Not a consistent occurrence and easily overlooked as I would think that maybe something was wrong with the configuration of my computer as it would again work if I rebooted or plugged it in and out a few times. Is it my computer, a software problem, configuration problem, IRQ conflict? Who knows? Shortly after a period of 2 months, it failed to work at all. I tried the device on other computers in case it was problem with mine. Negative. It was dead as could be. So, I feel pretty good knowing that even though the time has expired to return it to the seller, I can go straight to the mfg and get resolution through the 1 year warranty, after all, it was only 2 months old!. Going back to the seller who states they handle mfg warranties for the product, I email twice within 2 weeks giving them chance to respond, Nothing. As aggravating as it was becoming, I then do a search on Google for the name "Mediasonic" and get this page http://www.mediasonicinc.com/store . Ok, great! They even have a "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page to get the warranty work done! Not so fast! First off, the "Contact Us" link is merely a web form obscuring any email address. Who am I sending this email to anyways? Twice emailing within AGAIN 2 weeks waiting for a response and not a word though the seller on his eBay site and the webpage store for Mediasonic both say they will get back to me within 48 hours! Nothing. It is out of Paypals control now cause it has been over 60 days.
If you buy any brand new product from ebay, you are as foolish as I was! Once you remove your face from in front of a seller, you are just an electronic binary resource to be filtered and deleted. You don't get that when you go into Best Buy or Walmart! If you have a problem at those places, you can march yourself right straight up to the Service Counter and demand to speak to the manager or get warranty service as advertised for the product! Not the case here on eBay. When you are doing the volume of selling like this guy http://myworld.ebay.com/mediasonicinc there is only one thing to do ... laugh at the money pouring in!

Now I purchased a second one just to be able to leave negative feedback in reference to this sellers service!

note:I did not keep the original emails to the seller that I sent from eBay as I did not expect a run around from him. The following emails began from the official website for mfg warranty.
Ebay Correspondence Read From Bottom up please:
Thank you so much for finally getting back to me with a REAL response. I
went and purchased another media device from mediasonicinc to get the
information I was looking for as Ebay did nothing but give me the run around
just as the seller and mfg did. What is unfortunate now at this point is
that the phone number is an international call for me and I am going to
write this off as a bad learning experience. It is not right to have a
shipping address and facility in the USA doing business here and NOT have a
local phone number that is not an international call. That probably doesn't
mean much to you Ebay but for the average consumer, they cannot afford to
make those calls. To make that call and go thru everything else, it just
makes sense to purchase a NEW one as that is the cheapest option for me.
They must count that factor in when selling on your site. He might as well
be in China or effectively anyplace else for that matter! Looking at the
address on google earth for mediasonicinc, it appears he sits on a peninsula
just about a block from the Canadian border. He is indeed in USA shipping
but not the phone! I have been using ebay for 8 years now and am
considering deleting my account and publishing this experience on the web
via multiple free hosting web pages, as many as I can sign up for to share
my perspective of what Ebay is really about when it matters the most.

You already said you would send me his telephone to call him ....... why are
you repeating all this and making it more difficult for me to have to
respond to yet another email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His damned
info is not available to me!!!!!!!!! Are you soooooo thick headed? See : http://sites.google.com/site/mediasonicincsite/ to fins out just how
responsive he is after he has received his money! You already told me :
Yes, please send me the phone number of this deadbeat seller who refuses to
provide the warranty for the product he blatantly advertises on your website
almost continuously. He certainly doesn't answer emails back from his ebay
site or from the store site on the internet! YOU SHOULD NOT ALLOW THIS
PRODUCT TO BE SOLD ON YOUR SITE AS IT SERVES TO MAKE YOU LOOK BAD ALSO!
